ANTIQUE CHINESE COBALT BLUE PORCELAIN BOWL & COVER CENSER FOO DOGS DRAGONS. The featured item represents a Chinese porcelain covered bowl, possibly an incense burner, that measures approximately 11 3/4" from the floor to the highest points of the lid's foo dog knob, 6" from the floor to the rom of the bowl, 7 3/4" wide at across the top flange, 6 1/4" outer and 5 1/2" inner diameter at the opening and 5 3/4" in diameter at the opening. The bowl has a round domed base, short cylinder foot and a flared round body with flange rim. There are two applied dragon head handles with hoops.
The cover has a domed shape, applied foo dog figurine on the top and pierced design with lucky coins. The piece is decorated with hand painted underglazed cobalt blue.The top of the bowl's rim and the foot feature band with key fret pattern. The foot base is decorated of ruyi heads and fleur-de-lis like pattern bands. The side of the bowl are painted with pair of foo dogs among clouds and pearl in flames in between.
The item comes in overall good condition. There is a repair on the edge of the bowl's base - a chipped piece that was glued back. Aside that normal vintage wear like some scuffs marks and scratches here and there. There is a gap on where one of the dragon heads was applied to the side of the bowl's body.Other production flaws and imperfections.
