A rare antique Chinese blue and white herbaceous peony porcelain bowl in conical form, Xuande mark and possibly of the period, Ming Dynasty (13681644). The bowl is finely potted with wide flaring sides in deep tone of cobalt blue accented with heaping and piling, the exterior painted with continuous six large herbaceous peony blossoms inter-connected with leafy scrolls under a single line fillet at the rim, and above two rows of overlapping petals and a single blue line encircling the foot, the interior painted with mallow petals with double blues lines at the center and a single blue line at the rim, the base inscribed six character Xuande reign mark within double rings in under-glazed blue.
